![]() Or perhaps he had a hard time explaining things. Try to keep in mind permits and inspections are how you know the fella ain't a serial arsonist that is continually buring people's shit down. If he isn't permitted, he might have a hell of a time getting the power company to reconnect your electricity. If he is not licensed, then he is not permitted. Shit like this is on the test to become an independent contractor or master electrician, like me. Your handy fella can't calculate service conductors correctly. He took er backwards from what was intended. The correct application of that that 4/0 4/0 2/0 can actually be permitted to carry up to 225 amps in a single family residence. He believes the max that wire can carry is 87 or 83% of its listed rating. So, what it appears you handyman is doing is this, he is miscalculating the ability of the wire by applying that demand factor incorrectly. This accounts for a safety margin to avoid nuisance tripping of the main, and the continuous nature of the load. So what that means is if you handyman conducts a load calculation as required by the National code (which is super unlikely, as it is waaay harder than a service conductor calc) and it tells him he needs up to a 200 A service, he is fine to use 2/0 2/0 1/0 copper, because the NEC acknowledges that the calculation will be higher than the actual demand on the system. Code allows up conductors to be rated at 83 or 87% of the calculated load for a single family residence. there is a high probability this is a missaplication of code. They can give you a 150, they can give you a 200, but 189 is not a possibilty. If you are going for a standard copper service, 2/0 2/0 1/0 copper is standard in my area, as the code specifically allows it. 4/0 4/0 2/0 use is good to 300 A if direct buried, 205 in pipe. We currently have central air conditioning. We may switch to an electric furnace and water heater, may get an electric car, and may want a sauna down the road. I'm not sure if 189 amp service is technically under the umbrella of 200 amp service from code perspective or not, and if there are any practical or resale advantages to the full 200. Seeing as we hardly need 100 amp service right now, is it worthwhile upgrading to the full 200 amp service? Ontario code now requires 200 amp service for new builds, and also requires it for hot tub installs (not something we need). They have provided the option of 189 amp service with aluminum wire, or a full 200 amp service with copper wire (note this is the exterior wire coming to the panel). It makes financial sense to upgrade our service from 100 amp at the same time, even though we don't need it at the moment. We are located in Ontario, Canada and need to have some electrical work done on the power mains line coming to the house. ![]() Finally the will not download Mojave…it sends you back to t he App Store which has the aforementioned problems. ![]() ![]() Terminal says that the command is not recognized. And, the Terminal Command to download the full installer > softwareupdate -fetch-full-installer -full-installer-version 10.14.6 does not work either. Unfortunately the terminal command in Catalina that you so kindly furnished does not work because it says that the format is not recognized. Tried 4 times to get the download and could not get it to stay on my drive. It does not go into the trash or anywhere else on the drive, I used every search tool I own to be sure I was not mistaken. When the download of Mojave from the App Store is completed Catalina decided that Mojave cannot be installed and makes the download vanish. My 2019 iMac came from the factory with Catalina already installed on it. If all else fails, you can still run those major 32-bit apps in a VM like Parallels installed along side Catalina. There’s one more way to create a mountable image of the Mojave Installer for you using a Python script that Mac Admins in IT departments frequently use, but it’s a bit more complicated, so get back to me only if these other methods all fail. In all these cases, you will need to first erase the entire SSD, so make sure you have your user data backed-up in a place you can migrate it from after you get Mojave running. Since your iMac initially came with Mojave 10.14.4, you are supposed to be able to use Internet Recovery, as described in How to reinstall macOS from macOS Recovery following the Shift-Option-⌘-R instructions, but some recent users have been reporting that not working for some reason. Where the thumb drive is temporarily named “MyVolume” Sudo /Applications/Install\ macOS\ Mojave.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia -volume /Volumes/MyVolume I always create a bootable USB thumb drive for that purpose. The next step would be to copy it to a bootable drive of some sort. If the download finished did it launch the installer splash screen and then tell you it couldn’t install it? If so, then all you need to do is quit the installer and it will be found in your /Applications directory (folder). When the download finishes Catalina will not allow it on the SSD. With little or no corroborating evidence and no eyewitnesses to support their remarkable story, the Barney and Betty Hill abduction case is, as often happens, inconclusive at best and a complete fabrication at worst. He noted that the area is populated by several towns, and that "it seems impossible that nobody would have noticed a car madly speeding down Route 3, screeching around corners and running stop signs and traffic signals with a low-level UFO in close pursuit."Įven many UFO believers reluctantly admit that much of Betty Hill's experiences and stories cannot be true and instead are likely imaginative fantasies of a sincere but confused woman. Perhaps it is the relatability of a couple on their way home from a honeymoon, or maybe it's the amount of evidence that can make even the most hard core skeptic look twice, or maybe it's the otherworldly feel of it all. Investigator Robert Sheaffer, author of "UFO Sightings: The Evidence," examined the path that the Hills claimed they followed in 1961 while pursued by the UFO. I will be posting some of the most important UFO documented movies on my site now. The story of Betty and Barney Hill is one of the most popular UFO abduction stories in history. One UFO researcher who worked with Betty noted that she was “unable to distinguish between a landed UFO and a streetlight.” In other words, she saw UFOs where none existed. In the decades since her original 1961 experience with her husband Barney, Betty claimed not a few, nor dozens, but hundreds of UFO sightings. Betty Hill's own reported experiences cast doubt on her credibility. No other witnesses could support their account, parts of it were implausible, and the validity of "repressed memories" was called into question. ![]() For all its style, you’d think Chinese Tuxedo would have more swagger. ![]() ![]() Honey-glazed char siu ($28) tastes exactly as it’s supposed to, as sweet and rosy as a blushed cheek, but picking it out of a lineup would be near impossible, and a stir fry of steamed chicken and tofu skin registers as pale and timid as it looks ($25).
